I had a massage this past week.
I needed it. BAD. My glutes were all tight and locked up, and it was affecting my mobility.
As I was lying on the table, clenching my teeth, cussing in my brain because the pain is intense, the thought always arises, Why am I doing this?
This thought was replaced by how I take care of all parts of my bodies. You have to in order to be effective at CrossFit and continue to do it. At least at my age you do.
I get massages (muscles). I now see a chiropractor (bones). And a muscle activation specialist (tendons and ligaments).
I’m seeing someone for everything. Except the brain… A psychiatrist.
Um….I’m not there yet…
But maybe I should be??
You just need a good friend to listen to you, no shrink as they will just ask questions and make you figure it out yourself (unless that’s what you want – then do it). 😀

Meditation and a good listener can do what a psychiatrist can’t. Unless you are feeling like you’re out of control, stay away from psychiatry.

Mental health is to be taken just as seriously as physical health is. Especially with a sport like CrossFit being in top condition, mind & body, is very important.
