So I’m on a quest to actually meet my CrossFit goals this year. One of those is handstand walks. Here’s one of my latest videos with me practicing. Let me know what you think, and I’d love it if you subscribed to my YouTube channel (you don’t have to watch — just subscribe!). Thanks!
So after the CrossFit Open, I’m feeling like it’s time to get serious about CrossFit.
For the past couple of years, I haven’t improved all that much. Mainly because of injuries. However, I’ve found I’ve become quite complacent, and I don’t like that.
I should have done better at the deadlifts on CrossFit Open 22.2. I should have finished CrossFit Open 22.3 but got stuck on the bar muscle ups. I was just disappointed all around.
So now, I’m putting in place what I need to do to get stronger and to get my skills down.
I don’t want to be good any longer. I want to be more than good.
I did my best yet on CrossFit Open Workout 22.3. It is:
21 pull ups
42 double unders
21 thrusters (65 lbs)
18 chest to bar pull ups
36 double unders
18 thrusters (75 lbs)
15 bar muscle ups
30 double unders
15 thrusters (85 lbs)
I had dreams of finishing this one, but all I got to was 5 bar muscle ups. I was happy with this, but I wanted more. My bar muscle ups suck. This will be a major push to improve over the next year.
I was excited about this one over CrossFit Open 22.1. However, I was extremely disappointed in my performance. You can see the video below and subscribe to my YouTube channel for more great content today!
All I really do is CrossFit and work. That’s about it.
I am desperate to move to someplace warmer — preferably a beach. To someplace where there’s a CrossFit community that my daughter can join. To someplace where I can leave my computer behind and not think about it.
I don’t like how I look (story of my life). I’m getting older, so recovery is harder. My kids are leading their own lives now.
So, here I am: Me and CrossFit. And since sometimes CrossFit and me aren’t the best of friends, my life sucks anyway.
I mean, there are no words here. I hate wall walks. I don’t understand how that is even a CrossFit move. Dumbbell snatches and box jump overs I’m just slow at.
For the first time in a long time, I am not looking forward to the CrossFit Open.
It’s not a big deal at my box for Friday Night Lights. Only three other people signed up I think. Dave Castro won’t be doing the announcements. Honestly, he was the only commentator I really liked.
But, I will do the workouts. I moved up to another age division this year, so fewer people to compete against. That’s the one plus.
Recently, I posted on my challenge of finding CrossFit partners for CrossFit competitions. So, I took to the internet and found two ladies to partner with at two upcoming CrossFit competitions.
Not many other people I know (besides those I partner with) are willing to partner with a stranger they “met” on the Internet and work out with them. It does take a bit of risk, and if you’re looking to win, you’ll have to take their word on their CrossFit skill ability.
However, if you’re like me, it’s more about just doing the CrossFit competition than winning. Plus, you are helping others to compete, and you’re having fun while you do it.
Sure, you never know what you’re going to get partnering with strangers. But does it matter? Watch my videos of me working out with strangers below, and you decide for yourself!

I competed yesterday in the Windsor Warrior, a partner competition in Windsor, CO hosted by OFW CrossFit. It was fun. I partnered with a lady named Jill who I met there for the first time.
For CrossFit comps, it was tame. There were no real hard skills — the hardest being double unders and toes to bar. However, I did PR my thruster at 130 lbs, which was the highlight of the day.
The only qualm I had was that the competition was running about an hour behind schedule, and it was run with a military overture that I did not find appealing.
