CrossFit Competition: Windsor Warrior 2022

I competed yesterday in the Windsor Warrior, a partner competition in Windsor, CO hosted by OFW CrossFit. It was fun. I partnered with a lady named Jill who I met there for the first time.

For CrossFit comps, it was tame. There were no real hard skills — the hardest being double unders and toes to bar. However, I did PR my thruster at 130 lbs, which was the highlight of the day.

The only qualm I had was that the competition was running about an hour behind schedule, and it was run with a military overture that I did not find appealing.

Running a 5k

For the third year in a row, my kids and I have run the Pelican Lakes Turkey Trot in Windsor, CO. This year, it was cold, but not snowy.

Both my daughter and I won 3rd place in our age divisions, and our prize was a pie.

It was fun, and I like the course. Proceeds go to Athletes in Tandem, an organization dedicated to helping athletes of all abilities participate in athletic events.

CrossFit Competitions : Granite Games Throwdown

My home box, CrossFit Endure, hosted the Granite Games Throwdown today.

It was an awesome day, great weather, full of fun and friends and challenging workouts, laughter, and camaraderie.
The gals and I finished third place, and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Both are some strong ladies who know how to bring it! Thanks, Michelle and Candice, for making great memories!

My First 5k of the Season…

I ran my first 5k today of the season.  It was called Tyler3Miler, named after Tyler Mayle who died while hiking.  All of the funds raised go towards the band of Windsor High School in Windsor, CO.2 mile December

It was a gorgeous day here in Windsor, CO.  It was a bit chilly, but five minutes into this and all that was forgotten! There’s nothing like running in the fresh air with nature.  Nothing beats it!

I did well, but there wasn’t a lot of entries.  I was second place overall for females.  My daughter was about 40 seconds behind me.  My other daughter was about 13 minutes behind. She got a bad cramp.

I had a good time.  It was fun.  I’m preparing for a 10k in early June and this was a great warm up!

Yesterday, I did another CrossFit competition. It was a partner comp with one male and one female. This one was local, held at Official Fitness in Windsor, CO.

Like most CrossFit competitions, this one had 3 workouts and a floater and a final if you made it. We finished in fourth place by just a hair.

My partner, Alex, and I make a great team.  Our strengths and weaknesses complement each other and it’s always fun to work out with someone who 1) pushes you and 2) wants to win as much as you do!  The great thing about partner workouts is you work harder so you don’t let the other one down!  I definitely did, and I know he did as well!

It was a great time. The day was bright and sunny. My kids were able to come and watch because it was so close to our house.  The other competitors were amazing athletes.  Official Fitness was a welcoming, warm box.  Hanging out with other athletes is always inspiring.

In addition, I added more bruises to yesterday’s.  It was a great warm-up to the Open (which is happening in 5 days and I’m not ready!!!).  And I was blessed to spend time with some of my favorites athletes from my own box, CrossFit Endure!  Thanks for cheering us on guys!
